Paul Grilley

Paul Grilley has done much to publicize and popularize yin yoga. He has been teaching yoga since 1980 and his special interest is in anatomy, fascia and its relevance to the practice of Hatha Yoga. I had the great fortune of learning Yin Yoga directly from Paul and Suzee Grilley as well as from other superb teachers.

Josh Summers

Josh is a Yin Yoga teacher, a licensed acupuncturist, and a meditation instructor. With a professional background in Oriental Medicine and a personal passion for the dharma, Josh fell in love with Yin Yoga as a beautiful synthesis of the two. He teaches workshops and trainings throughout the United States and Europe. I consider myself very lucky for having chosen to take one of his Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings in Munich.

Spirit Yoga

Among the many studios in Berlin, Patricia Thielemann’s Spirit Yoga is a real find, both in terms of its approach and its interior. I went to Berlin to attend Patricia’s pre- and post-natal yoga teacher training which I didn’t regret.

Yogaraum Hamburg

Yogaraum Hamburg in Karoviertel is the oldest Yoga Studio in town and still as popular as when it first opened over 16 years ago. The two founders, Silke Markmann and Suse Hübner, have wholeheartedly devoted themselves to the place and that’s exactly what makes it so special.

Christian Klix

During my time teaching at Turnraum in Munich Christian has been my yoga colleague. His main emphasis is not only a powerful, dynamic asana practice, which belongs to his daily routine, he also loves to practice and teach mediation, energetic Pranayama as well as intensive Kriyas. He conducts workshops, teacher trainings and retreats across Europe.

Janga Surfcamp, founded by my friend Yoyo Terhorst, is not just another surf camp. It’s a surf training facility with a recovery and wellness aspect, a perfect place to train pros and to give them the perfect environment to relax and to have a bit of luxury. To top it off, this isn’t exclusively available to pros but to any surfers; beginners through to the more experienced! They offer a mix of functional training, yoga, coordination training, cardio and martial arts. To relax they have jacuzzi and sauna facilities as well as specialist massages and acupuncture appointments.

They believe in conducting Yoga for normal people, where you can come to get healthier, to feel good about yourself, regardless of your fitness level, flexibility, size, age or shape.

Adeline Tien

I did my Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Adeline and I loved it. Adeline is teaching Yoga Basics, Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga and her teaching style is a quirky blend of alignment based yoga carefully held together with the fluidity of the Ashtanga Vinaysa practice. But her gift is to teach amazing Restorative Yoga classes. Apart from public classes, she specialise in one-to-one Yoga Rehabilitation sessions – using yoga poses as a form and tool for improving function and mobility.

Canvass

At Canvass, where I was also working as a yoga teacher in Singapore, art and yoga are practiced and taught as these two spheres work together to find freedom, balance and creative growth. This lovely studio is a happy place that engages and stimulates mind and body – and allows you to sketch freely and stretch fully.
